What is WPS, PQR & WQT?

WPS – Welding Procedure Specification

A Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) is a formal, written document that provides direction to welders for making sound and repeatable welds. PQR – Procedure Qualification Record

The Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) validates the WPS by documenting test weld data and results. It includes mechanical testing (tensile, bend, impact), visual inspection, and NDT results to ensure the welding procedure produces acceptable quality.

WQT – Welder Qualification Test
